The driver’s side internal door lock has given up the ghost, are they a Land Rover part or are they modified? I ask as I cannot find an identical part, either on the web or at my local Landy shop.
The job for tomorrow is to open up the broken one to see if it’s fixable.

This looks familiar with a bit of modification I would say.

Or this one.. bottom of the page - Britpart. This is identical to mine but of course mine is 22 years old now and yours maybe different.
Looking carefully it seems you would have to file off the peened over posts on the lock to get inside.

I'm assuming your problem is the lever latching mechanism on the inside door face. The latches are anything but sophisticated so you should be able to fix. If not.....Is this yours?

This is exactly like the ones fitted on my 1986 4/4. Land Rover friends of mine have always commented that the locks are LR items

As far as the internal locking mech is concerned, if the door is not fully shut tight, the lever will only go half way round the quadrant slot. I use this as a check-feature to make sure doors are closed properly. So in John’s case, just make sure its not the door or latch malfunction, rather than the lock itself?

Geof, Thanks for the link . Yes they look identical to the Morgan locks. Lots of the LR ones were similar but not identical.
Deejay, My problem is in the lock, as it does not work when tested on the bench. I've had a poke around inside and got it to sort of work, I would suspect that there is some dirt in there. I'll take it apart this afternoon, after Moto GP practice and qualy has finished.

I've taken the lock apart and the problem is that the slider sticks in the open position. In the pic below the slider should return, by spring action, in the direction of the arrow but it jams. It's obviously there is rust in the bottom of the lock. Unfortunately everthing is either swaged or welded so it's not the easiest thing to take fully apart and clean. I'll just fit a new one and keep the old one in case there is a world shortage. LoL.
