30 odd miles around the Surrey hills via Newlands Corner where this was spotted, anyone know what it is? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/06/17/IMG_2946.jpg) That is the SMART Crossblade. It came without a roof and was ment to be cool and quite expensive in comparison. It did not sell as it was based on the small 600cc angine with the old gearbox. They were all built by BERTRANDT I think. Later in the same year the facelift of the Smart came with the much better 700cc engine and the faster gearbox. So no need to think about the Crossblade. Most of them were sitting in showrooms waiting for better times. Fun concept though...

Not me but Madmax came to ours together with other reprobates from the GEG for a joint birthday event with AnthonyMorgan the Freeman .A BBQ was held and I cracked the special vodka I got on retirement in Feb 2020. It is moreish as they say. I have some left if you are quick.  We had a lovely BBQ with Morgan friends . That sums up for me the joy of these cars. Also Mrs Hawki & Mrs Madmax provided superb cakes to go with my burnt meat. Happy days. Retirement is getting better as I get older.
