From version 4 of the Owners Manual:

Section 16.6 Bevel Box:
It is essential to replace the bevel box oil every service

In chapter 18 Warranty Information:
There's a section on General Maintenance Information. Within this it lists "Items Needing Special Attention" and states "Every 3,000 miles or 1 year replace engine oil and filter.

So combining the 2 bits of info gives the need to change the BB oil every 3,000 miles/1 year

Having recently purchased a 2020 250mile 3W I was some what disappointed with the driving experience because of the oh so noisy drive train. Just couldn`t hear myself think at around 50mph in particular. But having researched a lot on the bevel box, I have changed the oil using MOTUL competition gear oil 75W140 and had a word with the guys at Crazy Horse who also recommended using Red Line additive. Well I could not believe the difference, the whine has improved by I would say 60%. Its not until the oil is really hot that it starts to whine now and no where near as bad as it was. The car is now a real pleasure and thrill to drive and people don`t look around to see what the whining noise is coming down the road towards them. Just hope that the oil success will last a while, before it needs changing again.

Welcome to TM SeasideNick. Can you say what Red Line additive exactly please? The 250 mile M3W Bevel Box may well improve over the next few miles anyway. Some do get better as they bed in, others carry on as noisy as ever, it's a lucky dip. It will be about as good as it will get by about 2000 miles. They are usually OK when the oil is cooler but really get loud after a few motorway miles. I hope you continue to enjoy the M3W experience, noises and vibrations included.

When refilling the bevel box from the upper fill hole, I make sure the M3W is on level ground. A successful fill is when the oil starts coming back out of the upper fill hole. The oil level ultimately should be just at the lower edge of the upper fill hole. Obviously if the M3W back end is jacked up and you fill until oil comes out the upper fill hole, then you are going to overfill. Conversely, if the front end is still higher than the rear as when you drained the oil from the lower hole, you will end up under filling the bevel box.

I specifically mention this because the first time I changed the bevel box oil in my garage I didn’t realize my garage floor is higher in the front than the back for water drainage purposes, so I would have underfilled my bevel box a bit.

I’m able to change the bevel box oil with all tires resting on the floor. I don’t jack the vehicle off the ground.
