Day 2..... well, I start with day 2 as I had a bad reaction to a medicine and did not start on day 1. My wife went on ahead as part of the trip was to visit a college friend. We were going to take 2.5 days to reach Maine, instead I am doing it in 2. Trying to AVOID the metro areas of Baltimore, NYC and Boston. So up I81 to Binghamton, NY.
,
One hour and a half in, and I encountered rain. was heading in a NNE direction and the rain was heading in an ENE direction. Took about 15 miles before i could suit up so rather damp, and of course the temperature dropped into the 50's. 3 hours later the rain stopped, but still chilly and cold. Several stops to walk around and warm up, but no pictures! Finally stopped in Wilkes-Barre to heat up a meal, and sip on some Scotch.

Day 3.... the joy of having an oil temp gauge as it stated it was 47 degrees, but at least the sun is out.

Several quick little goes with stops to warm up and entered New York.

Day 3.... headed through Schenectady headed to go across lower Vermont and New Hampshire. Just entering Brattlesboro found a little cafe that had a food truck and outside dining.

Finally to our friend just outside Kennebunk... the original part of the house was built in the 1790's

Day 4 we head up Hwy 1 to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The highway takes you through all the coastal towns and inlets and harbors.

day 6 was a drive back across Southern NH and VT and spending the night in Binghamton....

Day 7 we headed through Pennsylvania to Gettysburg. Truly the turning point of the civil war, although it took nearly two years before it was over. One of the points often overlooked was Lee was hoping to also capture African Americans to take to the south to sell and help finance the war. The Northern troops had the high ground and in the end over 50,000 troops died. Some southern batteries

in the center is big round top and to the left little round top. The brigade from Maine was the "end of the line on little round top and saved the day by refusing to be out flanked

the view from Big Round Top to the "devils den" the southern troops tried to storm the hill

on the final day of the battle the southern troops reached the "Copse of trees" before being repelled. Many southern troops and officers died in this attempt

Day 7 200 miles and back home.... Approximately 2300 miles for the trip.

CLEARLY the M3W is NOT a 7-9 hour day vehicle... the most fun was hwy 9 across VT, NH, and Maine, and then Hwy 1 up the coast. And beside all the "can I take a picture?", there was the random person who actually knew it was a Morgan.
