... and undeserved penalty. Without that penalty he could've been second. Very impressive and being so young, he can have a great career ahead of him.

Great performance today. Achieving results well above the teams capability in IMO.

Great performance today. Achieving results well above the teams capability in IMO. Thats one thing that never happens in F1. The driver is at most 5% of the result the rest being the engineers and builders. Sadly Ferrari show just that. Lando has done really well, repeatedly thrashing the Ozzie but its on the back of a resurgence by one of our greatest teams McLaren. Now all we need is for Williams to get their act together because they too have a potentially great young british driver.

Yes it was a very different race to last weekend.
AMG have some work to do and the British/UK/English GP is going to be interesting.
I liked Lando's jokes about the McLaren lovers wearing orange for them in the crowd, that was clever. He drove a very smooth race and deserved it given they have shown constantly improving performance last season and this. Ferrari had better get a move on unless they want to be sharing pits with Haas next year. Even the speed of Leclerc cannot get that dog to hunt. I sense a building level of frustration in him which could lead to a team change if they are not careful.
Almost noticed moments of real competition and racing break out among the roundy roundy moments.
Williams had an F1 adjacent moment for certain, making it to Q3 and 9th on the start grid. For them that must have been a decent result and shows some signs of real improvement. It leaves me a bit conflicted. If, and I do say if, he leaves and replaces Valtteri to give Hamilton a run for it on his new 2 year contract that would probably break a strong building motivation in the Williams team. That's life I guess, make money from feeding the fast new talent in to make up for advertising revenue gaps.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I wonder just what has happened at Ferrari. It isn't as though they can blame the engine providers as they are one of the very, very few teams in the post war years to have always built their own. They must have turned over two pages in the rule book because their customers ( Alfa & Haas ) are doing even worse. I wonder how Carlos felt looking up the grid at Lando who was well worth the price of admission. I just hope that when RB take over the engine development from Honda that they can keep up the momentum. One of the major revisions for next season must be either a gaging of or a total replacement of the stewards. I know there is usually an ex F1 driver to help them but for goodness sake, F1 is sometimes tedious enough without this invisible body making some very dubious decisions which affect both the race and the drivers.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

Congrats to Lando! Great qualifying and a great race.
It seemed to me there were no great tv angles of the incident. I'm sure the stewards were going by the basic rule that room must be left. Maybe they wouldn't have penalized him if there was more run off area instead of gravel.
Of course, if it was DTM it would have been just another day on the track.
