Could anyone recommend a type of screen wash which inhibits slime developing in the washer bottle. I have just cleaned mine out and there was slime in there which probably killed my washer motor (I know BMWs are prone to this).

Gary the slime is mould and bacteria living in the chemicals in the screenwash. . Flush the system refill with neat screenwash to kill the bugs and spray the screen to clear pipes and jets. Tbe high alcohol level will kill the bugs.

Be careful of splashing too much neat screenwash on your precious shiny paintwork, best to have a hosepipe ready and give the screen area a good swill down before and after

BMWs own screen wash contains a bactericide I was told by the BMW service guy who flushed out my blocked washer system under warranty after I used super market stuff . Not that much more expensive than cheap stuff and I have never had another problem.

Can't remember ever topping my screenwash up in 16k + miles. Guess it gets done at service. TBH I use the wash infrequently due to having it splash over top of screen. Maybe just a Morgan thing ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/gBEtBcZ.gif)

Use the solution that fish keepers put in their fish tanks. Not expensive and environmentally friendly.

Use the solution that fish keepers put in their fish tanks. Not expensive and environmentally friendly. Sounds like a cue for some fish jokes...
