I invited my lady friend to try my 1997 Plus 4 for size. Unfortunately, being only 5 foot tall, she is unable to depress the clutch pedal fully without contorting herself, even with a cushion behind her back and a cushion underneath, to see over the bonnet. Short of making a pair of stilts for her, has anyone else encountered such a problem and arrived at a solution?

I have drilled holes and screwed a plywood block on the clutch pedal for sombody. gained 3,5 cm ,and finished with self-adhesive anti slip.

This probably won’t help but as a first step, has your lady friend considered complaining to local council for building the footpaths too close to her bottom?

Sorry. Silly ‘antipodean’ humour that isn’t helpful on my part. Hope you come up with a solution.

Asmair, look at
https://www.wolfperformance.co.uk/pedals.html

Contact them an explain your issue. They will think along and see if their pedal solution is of any help for you.

Rather than spoil my car, perhaps I should change my co-driver, alternatively just keep driving it myself.

Is the minimum leg length the same in all models of Morgan, or do they vary? Does the type of seat change the minimum leg length?

Thanks,
Alistair

Swapping co-drivers I hear can be expensive, maybe take her along to your nearest museum and give her a little Rack time, say on a weekly basis grin2

We had a similar problem with our Roadster: Caroline is 5'2" and to be able to operate the clutch sh needed the seat so far forward the wheel was almost touching her chest.
The answer was to get an automatic, at that time the only option was the Plus 8 that we still have.

If your pocket is deep enough the automatic Plus 4 would, I'm sure, do the job.

But platform shoes, once so popular in the 70s, would also work, and cost a lot less...

Adjusting seat height and angle is covered in David Wellings' book.
Over the last 40 years I have raised the seats in many cars to suit Jill.
On our 1985 4/4 I unclipped the base upholstery from the seat frame and inserted a 10" square of 1" thick high density foam (cut from a kneeler mat) under the existing foam, towards the rear of the squab & refitted cover.
Adjustment range now suits 5'3 and 5'9 drivers.
