A nice series of photos, thanks for sharing, the engineering of the chassis frame bears more than a passing resemblance to the frame on my old Hinckley Triumph Speed Triple thinking
One of the great joys of Morgan ownership is visiting the factory, I must have been 6 times in the last 6 months, can be expensive though, when my 4/4 Sport was serviced 3 weeks ago I had no intention going back a fortnight later to pick up a RR (not Rolls-Royce toff but Red Roadster!) smile

Me too Easter laugh I first went in February this year quite innocently with a couple of friends, ended up a month later with my 4/4 and have done 6 visits so far....at least they don't charge me any longer! They even asked if i'd consider being a guide next year as i live quite close by. Very tempting!!

Just noticed that the article on Mogwire about the alleged weight issue has now been removed.

Well there may have been some disinformation about the legalities of the weight of the car, but frankly anything approaching 500 kgs for a car missing one wheel, no windscreen and associated mechanism, no spare wheel, and a 2 cylinder air cooled engine and so on and so forth is quite frankly far too heavy. I don't think any of the replicas are anything like that weight are they?

Maybe the series 11 version will have shed 75kgs and be that much faster as a result, and not having so much weight to push along should also help with the apparent drive belt jumping problem too, although I can't see that as being much of a problem to cure.

Seriously, doesn't anyone here feel that the car is too heavy?

I presume that Morgan would have gone through and figured out ways to add lightness, but lightness also comes at a price and may have sacrificed in this area to keep the cost down. The reality is that there may have been dismal reward for a decrease in weight anyway, unless substantial.

It would be interesting to know how much certain components in the vehicle weigh to figure out where the culprit lies. It has soo few features found standard on a modern car.
