Propane is a very good fuel indeed , cheap (mainly due to taxation ?) high octane , and very clean burning wrt emissions.

The disadvantages are the need for a stronger pressure tank to contain the fuel , and the lack of widespread availability of fuelling station that offer this.

I drove this very car around Bolinas where Bill lived and did the conversions. It drives superb as the Chevy engine is shifted further back which makes the steering so light and responsive, and the power is more than the BMW engines that Morgan currently uses. It is worth buying a Plus eight donor car and having the conversion done, I seem to recall is was around $57k to complete it on a donor car. Sadly Bill is no longer with us and I am not sure if the conversion is still offered. But I would highly recommend anyone with an old Plus eight to think about it.

You are a lucky chap, the sound of it is amazing and the sheer grunt is really conveyed on that video.

Good insight, thanks and very tempting but crazy.

Propane is available everywhere in the USA,, we use it in our RVs and everyone hzs a propane grill. The problem is it does not have the lubricity of gasoline so the valve seats, guides and rings wear out quickly. I managed a fleet of 10 Ford ranger pickups which had been converted to propane.they were a nightmare to maintain.

Thanks , my comments about availability were directed towards Europe , glad it is more available in US.

Your comments about lubricity are interesting , I was unaware of that element. In Europe most vehicles that have been covered to LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas, essentially propane/butane mixture)) are in fact dual fuel , they run on petrol (gasoline) when LPG is not available. This means they have to carry 2 fuel tanks and fuel delivery systems , but they don't run out of fuel .
