The Black one is the better car being a S1 with the Getrag gearbox. The later cars have a Ford transit gearbox and the ratios aren't as good for racing

However the seats and belts look original and will be long out of date for racing

A caveat- Don't buy one thinking its a cheap Roadster for the road, they are very much stripped out racecars and can make a Caterham look civilised

I looked at one a while back (7 years ago prior to getting the Plus 8) with view to converting it to road use and it is a difficult expensive route to a roadgoing one + you know for sure it's been abused on a regular basis , so why bother...

An Autotrader advert might read...
One careful-ish owner. Only used on track. Selling for genuine reason. When you see it you will buy it.

Roger Bluff Centre Sec of Thames Valley Mog has owned one for many years & used it on the road. It might be worth contacting him.

Two more up for grabs if you’ve not seen them…..

Or there is the last development of the +8 the GT2 car…. Before the Aero chassis was developed and the Big Blue cars came on the scene.

Was that the Red and Silver one that came down touring when we first met in Dartmouth John, if so it was a fine looking car.

My 4/4 Sport was a new model then and he was interested to hear my views on it I seem to recall.

I built the second Lightweight for Richard Thorne to race in 2008. To recreate that car today would cost nearer £60-70K. It's the only Roadster Lightweight to outright win against the Class A +8's

The first is the ex-Simon Orebi Gann Morgan Roadster. It's not actually a Roadster Lightweight

Roger's car is the Silver and red one. Its actually the first of the centenary Lightweights. I had to finish building it to deliver to Roger on Jan 1st 2009, when MMC shutdown for Xmas....
