I have just purchased one of Lionels 2 eared spinner spanners cracking piece of kit, what length breaker bar do you recommend.
Keith 2013 narrow bodied + 4 Ruby.

I have 3/4m but that is slightly too short. 1 to 1/2m might be better. I use also a mulfab spanner bolted to an old roof rack bar & that is over 2m. My front passenger side nut needs the longer bar. But my wheels are painted & the paint I am told adds to the stiction.

I bought a Sealey 600mm 1/2 share drive which works fine for me.
I almost forgot to mention that it fits under the drivers seat as it is not too long.

Oddly it is only the RHS passenger that needs the bigger bar. Hawki's car is the same. I had thought it was just the first time I tried to remove the wheel but when I checked when Lionel's socket arrived it was the same.

I'd be a bit concerned about using too longer breaker bar as it could allow excessive torque. Although I use an MG style pressed steel tool of similar length my 600mm breaker bar would work fine allowing a couple of good nudges to ensure adequate spinner tightness.

It's the releasing not the tightening that the bar is needed for and to which John's comments applied I think.. I tighten my centrelocks with a 2' bar and release with an 8' bar attached.
