I've fitted one to my S3 and it took 30mins to do - really simple with great instructions from Wolf.

['ve just bought one from Wolf engineering £375.Looks fairly easy to fit. I'm lucky my neighbours going to fit it for me. That sump looks very perilously low to the ground.

Often get nasty scraping noises at the front where I just go a little bit too far forward when parking and the front end goes over the kerb.

The first scrape on the guard might have cracked the sump - with total oil loss!
With a Morgan - a sump guard is essential.
Good Luck And that is exactly what happened with an Aero in Australia A complete and expensive rebuild

The scraping that most of us get from the front is the towing-eye which is the lowest part. The Wolf sump guard is definitely a rubbing plate and not a bash plate and is there really to protect the drain plug.

My concern has always been transfering a load from a rigid steel plate to the sump fixings, I wonder if that force could damage the block itself (I have had a previous car where sump damage transfered to the block casing around the fixings).
As such I always thought a chassis mounted plate was best, but I am no engineer!
Either way I suspect the risk is lower than that of ripping off the oil filter/drain plug on the later Aeros (Series 1 is remotely housed safely in the wing).

Hi Nick, I 100% agree with your assessment on the best overall solution of a chassis located plate and the potential risk to the block itself. Certainly the view by Brands Hatch Morgan is that these prevent far more damage / issues than they have seen caused by them (as yet zero block damage from having them fitted) and they strongly advised I fitted one even though I purchased direct from Wolf and BHM did not fit it so they were not trying to generate any work for themselves.

Do they fit these to the S1? No, and you don't need one. The rub plate is there to protect the plastic oil filter housing on the later S2 onwards engines. Your oil filter is tucked away in the nearside wing
