I had an order pending as of mid March with notices that the tires would be available July 4th, 2021. Summit Racing was the go to for this. I then received notice that the tires would become available in July of 2022! A phone call to Summit Racing took care of the cancelation and refund. My tires are still in good shape for this year but I do like to stay ahead. Blockley tires are still around so that will be my fall back.
Coker has a nice range of tires but the Excelsior line in the 4x19 size seems to have disappeared.
If anyone knows anything different I, for one, would love to hear it.
At this point in time I am non-judgmental in which is better or worse. The way I drive (semi-hard) eats up all lines equally.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Ditto. But that was a dog year ago. I'm a lot more confident with the Coker's than Avon's.

a couple of years ago I ordered excelsiors from cooker... they sent tires that were nearly 10 years old... I sent them back and will not use them again!!!!!!!

I had the same experience with Coker they sent me 14 year old tires, returned them, never trusted them since. I met a Healey guy who told me he had just bought his tires from Coker had them put on his car, I looked at the date code 9 years old don't think he was too pleased.

I've bought several sets of tires from Coker with no issues. I do specify on the order (i.e. in writing) that I will only accept tires with manufacturing dates in the current or previous year. FWIW I do this when I order from TireRack and from my local retailer as well. So I guess I don't trust the order puller at any tire retailer.

How do you determine when a tire was made?
