Sounds like a perfect day out thumbs

Indeed it does. It's less about having what you want, more about wanting what you have. Good for you, Mr B.

A lovely drive to the Bull at Long Melford via Lavenham for lunch with the gang. Glorious.

Yesterday evening a 40 mile trip back along the A25 after collecting the Morgan from BHM following a service and handbrake cable replacement. Spotted, earlier, a red Plus 8 on the roundabout at Leatherhead going north on the A24, otherwise uneventful.

Brands Hatch Morgan are a joy to deal with, flat rate for a service and flat rate again for the handbrake cable replacement, apparently a fiddly job done 'blind' without removing the whole interior. On this occasion they added new brake fluid which means that all the fluids are current to my 2 year tenure, the engine oil being twice replaced so far. The brake cylinders were checked, everything greased and I went away with the feeling that they care about my car as much as I do.

Charles Morgan talked about a sense of theatre about a car, if you don't want to look back as you walk away it doesn't have it. As I walked around the corner into the parking area there was my little car among a row of tin tops with it's welcoming grill, full of promise and theatre.

He understood what makes us love our cars. After almost 8 years of ownership I still take a last look and sometimes open the garage door, just to take a look.

Caroline feels the same about her AMG C43 Coupe.

I'm warming to the Tesla M3.. the way the body is shaped and the anticipation of the power..

Oh yeah; I went to get the bracket for the exhaust of Mattmog at Belmog. Normally a trip of 110Km via the motorway but took the time to avoid the highway. Arriving at Belmog is a bit like standing in front of (Aladdin's) Morgan's cave.

To drive back I chose an alternative route as always, don't like taking the same road twice. I know this region quite well and drove without satnav and let the most scenic roads lead me. Had to make a few U turns and even a piece of gravel road. But it was worth it. The weather was not perfect but 20° and dry, that's more than we're used to lately. Found some nice forest roads and a beautiful view just 25Km from home.

If I put it in the travel quiz, you'd never guess it's in Flanders?
Back home had som 50Km extra.
A very nice and useful trip.
