I think the issue here is that the classic replicas like the Cobra, GTO, and GT40 are unaffordable, so the replica market allows enjoyment of these concepts without the cost.

But Morgans are affordable. Well, to a certain demographic.

Aha!
Aero Plus8, CX Morgans, M3W ( bought in design).......
If MMC can do it why not anyone else?
OK, not built at Malvern but still a nice car.
Criticism of the hood fit? Surely a Morgan feature? Is fitting a Simmonds hood a deviation from Morgan authenticity?
It certainly looks built to a high standard, far better than the majority of kit car replicas.
Each to his own re preferences on body stance, mix of lights, over riders, trim etc.

Yes I think like me you have also really appreciated the effort and very real talent on display here, whether you like it or not is just a personal taste thing but it is very well built and not another plastic creation.
I've built kit cars but I don't have the necessary skills to attempt anything like this..

Being a dyed in the wool Plus 8 man I'm always going to like the wider stance cars.

I tried the skinny look with my 4/4 Sport for four years but my heart wasn't in it, enjoyable though the 24,000 miles were.

It looks like a lot of fun and will go like a scalded cat and handle well, a great amount of talent involved in building this to look Morgan like, it'll pee the purists off though grin2 as it vanishes into the distance..

Long live this level of creativity and engineering skill, I wish I had that level of talent.

Agree 100%. Cant understand the nay sayers though - after all the Trad harks back to the days when all cars were built in this way, and it still uses non Morgan engines and gearboxes etc. Its a bitza like this example and none the worse for that.

Famous Italian coachbuilders such as Michelotte and Touring did exactly the same thing.

Well someone loved it and appreciated the engineering value and paid $50,000 on the 26th thumbs .

The engineering is remarkable, without question, but to register it as a 1970 Morgan is somewhat odd.

If most of the components and spares below the waistline are sourced from a Honda dealer, then the truth is obvious.
