That should seal the deal on George replacing Valtteri in the Merc methinks.

Especially if/when he lets Hamilton through to attack Verstappen!

My thoughts echoed, this must be the one to clinch the deal, Bottas certainly got out of the pram when he saw George going like a man possessed.
Listening to it on the radio was exciting enough, I shall enjoy watching it later on C4.

It would have been great to see George on pole. Almost.

Haven't seen a weather report for tomorrow, but if it's like today Lewis may not get close enough to George to get by. That would be something!

Yes I think George will make his car as wide as possible tomorrow.

It should be a good race as rain is on the menu.

Lando starts 14th - 10th, minus a new gearbox penalty. Let's hope there's no after effects and we get to see him near the sharp end by the end.

Toto suggested yesterday that Lewis was set up for a dryer race - which may be so, or may be misinformation. What we did see yesterday that being on the right tyres makes a huge difference - and Red Bull have saved a set of inters. George & Lewis used all theirs - I' not sure about Daniel, and I wouldn't rule him out of a podium.

The weather forecast for today is a smidge less wet than yesterday - and yesterday was supposed to be light showers, so what do the weathermen know. I'm watching the start, goign out for lunch, and expect to be back in time to see the finish, after a red flag somewhere!

Will

Yes it has all the ingredients for a cracking race on one of the best proper circuits.
Thanks for the latest news.

So, if you were George, would you race as hard as you could to stay ahead of Lewis or assist him in his Championship quest?

Glory for one day or setting himself up for the next few years with his new team??

He is an out and out racer but sometimes one's head should rule one's heart. Or should it???

I think he'll go for it and Mercedes will want to see just that as make no mistake they are looking for the heir apparent for the ageing Lewis not a team mate really.

George has proved what an immense talent he is already and having Bottas with Lewis suits them for the next year or so I think.

If he deferred to Lewis it would demonstrate what a poor team player he is tbh.

Who is to say Mercedes will be the team to be with next year anyway wink

Could it be that there are two possible reasons for that fantastic effort by George ( other than being a great driver ) thus:-
1. He is taking the first chance he can after the summer break to remind the MB bosses just how good he is,or
2. He has already signed for next year and this was sheer happiness.
I hope he does show the gangster the way home, it will be like a breath of fresh air but after Ferraris terrible showing, I quickly switched to the test match and saw a brilliant England finish off India, far more exciting.

Here for a good time not a long time!!
