Ah yes, cascaded quotes, sorry about that Richard.
Anyhow, once mine is done I'll either be bragging about the improved ride, or bemoaning the expenditure (which would have bought a couple of cruises, remember them ??).
Has it proved transformational in your case John ?

Mine are now in the bin - should have bitten the bullet and drilled, tapped and helicoiled when the bolt broke.

Yes Peter, it is a 20mm increase in ride height, I've never got to grips with these new fangled metric measurements, prefer imperial.

I bought it with SSL fitted so no experience of pre SSL, mine also has the BRB's fitted and certainly feels better than the standard setup, more dialable to personal ride taste, whether its transformational is subjective and down in part to the state of wear of your current set up.

By way of illustration I found on my 4/4 when I just rebuilt my king pins with hard chrome pins and fitted BRB's it felt a massive improvement in ride compliance compared to the tired original setup.

Thanks John, I already have BRB's, so "we shall see".
Mine has covered somewhat under 14K miles since 2009. I established contact with the original owner (I'm the 3rd) and he wasn't too impressed from the outset and wanted to move the car on. So my mission, which I have chosen to accept, is to prove him wrong.

20mm is less than an inch isn't it? 3/4 " ?
Is that really going to help..is it worth all the work involved?

I understand the modified sumps are only about 20mm shallower, my Roadster doesn't rub/catch my elevated driveway as the 4/4 occasionally used to when fully loaded. Once the modified sump is on I will have raised it overall by 40 cm about 1.675 inches which is significant, as the sump being alloy. is not very forgiving if struck. Having an underslung air conditioning condenser which is also quite prone, its certainly worth it.

Even a 1mm miss is as good as a mile in this circumstance, which reminds me I must get around to fitting my Wolfy sump guard.

That seemingly small amount is significant when compared with the minimal ground clearance of latest Classics. Furthermore as part of the SSL RS upgrade it makes no difference whatsoever to fitting time as the spacer has to placed either above or below stub axle.

I see what you mean, especially if it's part of another job and you end up with an extra 40mm overall.
