Perez is out and hasn't even started - he crashed out in the heavy rain on the formation lap.
Race start now delayed due to rain....

Marko and Horner will be angry, that's Max and Perez crashed their cars all on their own this weekend...without a Mercedes in sight grin2 Karma guru

To be perfectly honest they should not be starting this race at all in the present conditions, it will be red flagged within the first lap for sure doh

I hope they don't do the two laps behind the pace car for half the points. That just seems silly.

I agree that's rubbish..

The race director has just announced that the 3 hour rule no longer applies, so who knows I guess the TV rights are speaking loudly to the rule benders rofl

Michael Masi is the most in-demand man in F1 today. He tells Ferrari that the 'hard' finish time limit of 6pm local time (17:00 BST) is not the case any more and the three-hour clock to get the race done has been 'stopped'.

They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery pull the plug on it for goodness sake doh

So after 14Km following the safety car we have half points awarded to Verstappen, George Russel and Lewis Hamilton in that order, what a fiasco that was in a brewery...

It will be interesting to hear what Ruut has to say about it as he went as part of the Orange army.

I spent three hours waiting to watch 2 laps behind the safety car.
A fiasco...

It is very easy to pass judgement sat in our nice warm and dry armchairs but this was a "no win" situation for the race director.

So many conflicting pressures so let's just accept it and move on to Zandvoort.

No I totally disagree, the race director was in a nice cosy dry chair as well and yet he saw fit to send these racers out into harms way. It was a bad decision made purely for financial reasons not protecting lives and he should be made to answer for his irrational judgement.

As Lewis and other drivers said the fans should get a refund as they have not only been drenched to the skin but haven't seen any racing at all.

It will be interesting to hear Ruut's comments as he attended the meeting.

He left at 1715 their time so missed the two lap farce..

This sums up the farce and extremely poor judgement we all witnessed today..

Not even enough action to fill a highlights program. Daft. At least it was something to show for Williams.

I think it has been said before but perhaps we fit all the tracks with "light" sprinklers!

Unbelievable. Putting 2 laps behind the safety car, basically parade laps, was a ridiculous decision. It was clear that no racing could take place. Money men influence? Stir up the title chase? Appease the spectators (I’d feel insulted if I was there) ?
Why was there an imperative need to create a “result” artificially. It was a RACE ffs!

A total nonesense. Why not do the race today? Or the first dry day.
