I have searched the threads and can’t find reference to E10.
However, excuse me if I’ve missed it.

My 2003 ‘Black Top’ 1.8 Zetec 4/4 seems to fall into the age gap between ‘definitely ok’ and ‘problematic’
I am going to seek advice from Bradley at Berrybrook as to whether any of the fuel lines will need upgrading.
I’ll keep you updated.

The engine will be fine , injectors etc are all Ford OE and are ethanol safe
What Morgan used to plumb the fuel lines with is anyone’s guess
They may have used ethanol safe hoses, or they may have used whatever they had on the shelf at the time

Your fuel tank is aluminium and may corrode internally as the ethanol can attack it- although I’m not sure at what percentage ethanol this will start to be an issue. Certainly E85 will…

2003 is potentially a change over year for the fuel tanks and pumps, the earlier pump is Honda (mounted on the sloping face of the back of the tank, secured by six bolts) and may pre date manufacturers testing fuel systems with ethanol. The latter pump is Ford ( mounted on top of the tank, and secured by a big plastic screw collar) and should be fine

I'm pleased you raised this Bud. as I have been wondering if I need to take any action too confused2

Like you, I looked at the MMC advice for my 2002, Aero8 - but the results are a little confusing.

I'm thinking that, (if anything) it might be just fuel lines for me ? ; Simon, can you shed any light on what might be needed....

Did anyone figure out if we have to do something about the filler hose that goes from filler neck to tank?

The way I read MMC's comments is that the filler hose & hoses around the tank could be dodgy. Hopefully one of the aftermarket companies of MMC will offer a replacement set at some time.

Wherever possible I use Shell V Power, or equivalent, in the 4/4.
I plan to continue for as long as it remains available.
However, I will investigate the issues regarding E10 and the ‘Black Top’ Zetec 4/4s

Yep, I always put 98 octane stuff in mine. Not had a problem yet, but I carry Classic Valvemaster Plus and I'll stick a shot of that in if I have to use E10. But it's only the fuel filler pipe that's an issue for me so I've got no great worries.
