I’m wondering if a storm cover on its own, without hood or tonneau, would keep the rain out? It depends on the quality of the storm cover. I have had one that would barley keep a light drizzle out.

I’m wondering if a storm cover on its own, without hood or tonneau, would keep the rain out? It depends on the quality of the storm cover. I have had one that would barley keep a light drizzle out. My John Taylor cockpit cover keeps out all the water. The one that covers the louvres proects the engine against water but can cause "patiation" where the edging touches the bonne - especially if it is windy. Swings and roundabouts.

Tonneau and storm cover for me. Same for me - with best experience over several years.

Many hotels have cameras covering the parking, it might be worth asking them to reserve a spot that has good coverage just as a precaution. I have only ever heard of one or two moments but it does not hurt.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

You end up with a big bag of water that is impossible to get off the car without spilling gallons of water either into the cockpit or down your jeans or both. It is a Bad Idea.

Tonneau and half storm cover (covering cockpit only) for 37 years and many nights in the UK and abroad.

Thanks all for sharing your experiences. I bought a Storm Cover but expected to use it to keep the rain out, I hadn't considered using it just to cover the car.
