As a matter if interest I am just about in the process of manufacturing replacement stainless steel hinge pins.(pricing TBA) Also I have taken over the manufacture of stainless steel bonnet extensions from John Taylor of Phoenix Design Services.
I hope it’s OK to mention it on this thread? I will also put it on the For Sale section.
If any of the forum members are interested let me know.
Regards, Paul.

I like to press pins out in a parallel vice with a nut and hexnut as pressing tools.

All pins will give up.

I'd be interested if my other plans don't work.

Thank you - just checked their website. From what I can see, their Brass hinges are the same price as MR.

From the dimensions given above the M7 x 80 bolts used on Citroen 2CVs to fix the lamp bracket to chassis might be suitable for adaption.
Available from 2CV specialists such as Der Franzose at around £2 each.

My Librands door stays have ceased to function properly (did they ever ?). At 12 years old and after just 3 months of ownership, parking on a slight incline or in a strong-ish prevailing wind blows the doors shut. On the basis that there are usually several wrong solutions, which of these seems a good cure ?
~ squeeze the two sides of the stay closer together (risks marking the s/steel)
~ replace the "roller" (is there a custom-made one ?)
~ if not, then a slightly larger-size piece of brass or bronze (or fibre) tube ?
~ tighten something else ?

I have a similar issue - I believe option 1 is the solution. I'll remove, use some rubber to protect the steel and give a squeeze with some adjustable pliers or similar.

Definitely solution 1 is correct - just protect the stainless with rubber or the like - best to remove the hinge and squeeze but be careful not to overdo it!! Don't ask how I know!!!!

Fuel.inj I'd be interested in a set of oversize hinge pins (7mm?). I had planned to make some with 7mm rod and graft on the domed top of the originals somehow.
