Just got some nice new seals for the Roadster, but there will be several wrong ways of installing them. Certainly they don't much resemble the ones currently on the car, which look to have been assembled from strips of black draught-excluder foam. It may be self-evident when I get the old ones off, but can anyone say for sure please which way round they go ?

At present, the passenger side (left side) sidescreen is pushed outwards when the door is shut. Evidently something is supposed to get compressed to make the seal work properly. I shall experiment and trial-fit the rubbers before fixing the (hopefully) industrial-strength adhesive strips in place.

Be careful, there is a cutout for the seal at the bottom. I advise you to see another car before putting them down.the side screen comes out because of the soft top. The flap is shorter on the hood of cars that come with these gaskets. One solution is to remove the convertible top flap a bit when you are inside.

The side-screen should slot inside the U shape as the door closes, and if you get the tension right, the side-screens don't blow out at speed.

I had to bend the side-screen mounting brackets to achieve that, but it needs care.

I can't help with the orientation but I would like to know where we could get the seals. The items fitted to my 09 car are just flat strips of neoprene.

The “new” rubbers fit with the small sharp part to the outside & the “bulbus” part against the windscreen frame so the back part (bottom of the U) fits the frame forward part. The side screen will now fit into the U and press inboard against the “bulbus” part. OR WILL IT?
Firstly I had to leave the original rubbers in place and stick the new ones onto the old. Secondly much juggling of side screens to get them parallel to the windscreen frame. I had to dismantle one side & elongate the mounting screw. Thirdly the small bit of the rubber on the outside has to be lubed so the side screen slips into the U shape without curling it. Once fitted properly they work extremely well. No screens pulling out at high speed & no leaks & a lot quieter.
Before I did the job I took some pictures of new cars which only demonstrated how appalling they had been fitted by the factory, in fact they did not fit at all in 1 case.

I got the seals from Melvyn Rutter, part # TMR310.
The Invoice states "...for cars 28/3/2013 on", but I checked and they confirmed they will fit earlier cars.
It will be a weekend job for me once I've pruned the roses and cut-back the lavender, and I'll report back.

I got them from Morganpark for my 2005 4/4.

They were original Morgan parts and cheap as chips. I was told that the gap between the side windows frame and the a-pillar has to be checked.
On my 4/4 the gap was suitable.

I fitted these to my car a few years ago, when trying them in position before doing anything I found that with the door closed the screen edge appeared to line up well if I left the old seal in position and stuck the new ones on top, been happy with them ever since so worth checking before you remove the old flat seal.
