The DVLA have put up a website listing most cars giving dates of when they become E10 compliant. Morgan are on the list. ...with exactly the same info as Williams were issuing. As said before, it is not as detailed nor comprehensive as some might have wished for,

The issue with Morgans is basically in two parts. Engine and the rest of the fuel SYSTEM. Engine. Over the years MMC have used many engine types and the details of which engines are ok is straight forward. The unknown is the rest of the system outside the engine. It looks like MMC have made the CX E10 compliant and some earlier models too. BUT, as in other MMC foebles the questions remain about components with rubber type composition and seals. Pipes, pump etc.. As I stated elsewhere I am searching for clear, properly gathered data about the effect of ethanol on rubbers. How does it affect rubber and how quickly? There will be differing severities from pure ethanol down to lower concentrations. I have a 2002 Plus 8 and the ENGINE is given ethanol clearance. As in the info on official sources for Morgans it is unclear if older cars will be ok. Basically a get out of jail statement as MMC cannot confirm what ethanol resistance the ever changing components have. Empirical evidence of older, high mileage cars running ok on quite high ethanol level petrols suggests no increased problems. Rubber deteriorates anyway so how do we know, without proper scientific tests, that failures are ethanol related? Think about renovating older cars. Rebuilding fuel pumps, renewing old, cracked and perished fuel pipes is almost mandatory. I may start some tests myself. Get various ethanol containing liquids from the pub as samples.

The filler pipe is a prime candidate, given that they go hard and crack anyway. But because the filler pipe only gets limited exposure to fuel, it probably won't make any difference.
I changed my Roadster filler pipe a couple of years ago and it was totally hard and inflexible.

Yes Jon, but it's better than nothing which is what we have at our local BP. I have mentioned it to a couple of Classic owners nearby and surprisingly they were blissfully ignorant so I guess they don't take any magazines or tinternet and were very grateful for the nod.
You can't stop the idiots misfuelling with Diesel/Petrol and they didn't sign for that as far as I can remember so God help them with this one, there are still plenty of companies going around sorting out customers cars.

Yes, just carry on using E5 all will be well so no change for me I always put BP Super fantastic whatever in as she only deserves the best When and if it ceases to be available will be the time to investigate hose and or seal replacement as the engine is safe. This all reminds me of the Millenium bug fiasco
