Preparing for the next week meeting we wanted to check out our lunch stop restaurant Alp Hitta for next week Saturday. Today the sky was stunning clear which made our ride outstanding beautiful. The first picture is on the Susten passt The last picture is made from the parking of the restaurant high above Andermatt. I used to love driving through the Alps in my +4 in the 60s and 70s, every view made you want to stop and photograph so progress became rather slow.
Some of those mountain restaurants were wonderful , real character and great cheap food, I guess that is not quite the case any more?

Beautiful area. What is the elevation there?
The restaurant is at 1842 meter. Furka pass is 2431 meter. The other picture at Susten pass is +/~ 2100 meter

Great photos. Jealous. Have happy memories of driving the +8 across many of those passes since the mid-80s. (Galibier, Bonette, Nufenen, Julier, Susten Grimsel, Furka.....) Famously blocked a one way pass in Austria, operating on traffic lights, when the car boiled. The hose to the newly fitted header tank split like peeling a banana.

I hope you have a great Treffen Laurens - only wish I could have been there with you all. Whilst I know I cancelled all my hotels and crossings only 2 or 3 weeks ago, I've now gone down with sodding COVID today, so I would not have been able to come anyway. I will therefore look forward even more to reading trip reports here in due course. Be safe people!
