None of the above have graced this thread before ... the anachronistic 4 seater DHC is a lovely bit of custom work, could have rolled out of the factory as a regular model .... still not sure what makes the previous 4 seater a 'prototype' ? ... if anyone knows please post the reason .... these three are in the category of 'need to know your stuff' to be obvious as they passed in the street .... doesn't make them any less special though.

The 4 seater prototype was the first M16 +4 I think, Allon Whites sold it a few years back

The side bonnet louvres look all over the place to my eyes.

At first glance I knew; I know that car.
I dived into my photo archive and yes, 2016 I saw him in Walcheren in a rally organized by MSCC Holland.

Beautiful and special car.

Especially the hood cover.

Nice one Paul, one question I would have to ask would be whether it had stainless bulkhead and inner wings if I went for it.
I'm rather hoping they sell it quickly so I won't get too tempted.

I'm not aware of that.
But as for the 4 seater prototype I am going to contact the owner and find out how and why.
Will keep you posted.

Here is another modified 4/4 Flatrad 1947 currently on sale for 14k.. in Bury St Edmunds.. Lots of fun for the price but I expect the MSCC would spit their tea out at the sight of this one.

Unfortunately there is no picture with the soft top closed. If the car is technically good, and the soft top well made, I think that's a great offer.

I agree with Jens. I rather like that!
Better it is on the road, in use, even if engine etc. are "wrong" smile

Ok, it's been re-engined but, as it was supplied to a coachbuilder from the factory as a bare chassis, this classes as a proper period special in my book .... no different from the up-market chassis from Rolls or Bentley with outside coachbuilt bodies. .... would be great if the buyer sourced a period replacement motor for it ... though, getting it out on the road and enjoying it would be just as good! 🙂
