Alistair, you have guessed that I FF through all that normally and literally just watch the on track action.
I shall crank this up on catch up and watch this "display".

I counted 10 orange watch flashes from Daniel !!

Jackie Stewart was (and still is?) a Rolex ambassador. He would put on and display his Rolex at every opportunity.
If companies are paying huge sums to sponsor then they will want their name/product clearly displayed.
Tobacco sponsorship pumped huge sums into F1 until banned. We now have socially acceptable brands in their place. Well, until oil companies become the modern tobacco companies.
Ban Max and Lewis? That could hand the title to Max.
If a driver puts his car into a position he shouldn’t by refusing to back off when he really should and not bully his way through then harsher penalties need to be given.

Agreed Sospan. I guess I should have been more clear and highlighted that this seems to be something new and is becoming painfully in your face rather than the subtle but necessary sticking of signs on things. It was the uncomfortable and incongruous manner in which it was done that made it seem so naff.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

No doubt overthinking this, but maybe it's an ironic 'post-modern' response to the influence of sponsors ... sort of caricaturing the situation (remember the Who 'Sell Out' album back in the day?).

On second thoughts, may be giving them too much credit of self-awareness ... irony seems a disappearing art 🙂

'Arty Foreign Films' .... or 'Saddle-Sniffers' as Mrs Image would refer to them when she was responsible for putting on Arts events ... reference to the Francois Truffaut movie Les Mistons it would appear 🙂

Well Up the Junction is one of the films we have seen there but I don't think there was any of that going on, at The Barn Cinema they show really old quality films that the mainstream cinemas couldn't afford to run.

We saw a great talk by David Nott the trauma surgeon there so their menu is varied and interesting he was inspirational, we talked with him afterwards and bought his signed book and signed up to his foundation - an outstanding man of immense skills and courage, truly a life well lived.
He is the most impressive person I've met by a long chalk and so modest with it a real charmer.

For those of you that are unaquainted..

Definitely no saddle sniffers K that's not an area of interest to either of us.
