Hello all. Wondered if anyone had come across an issue which I’m currently experiencing. I took the car out of the garage the other day to let it heat up for a little before a run and when I came back out the cabin was full of steam and the engine was venting out of the radiator cap. It is in at the main dealer and they have replaced the thermal switch but now the car runs one fan continually and the second doesn’t work at all.
They have said they believe the control unit is showing double the resistance it should and apparently Morgan no longer supply these - surprise surprise! Does anyone know if anyone can still supply these as if not looks like I have a very large paperweight once again!

- sorry to hear this Kevin; you have had a real run of bad luck... I live in fear of the control unit going kaput as MMC no longer seem to support a replacement. I seem to remember 'NickCW' of this parish having similar problems (or it could have been the main ECU box - can't recall the name of it now). I think Nick bought the last one that MMC had in stock - but ,again I'm sure he can confirm (or otherwise) this; might be worth a message? I kept a note of this chap - TECHNOZENPaul Brown Technozen Electronics 44 Meadowview Brighton East Sussex BN2 4NF E-mail: paul@technozen-electronics.co.uk Phone: 07527 877995 - a while back as a possible source for getting the electronics fixed if they ever went pop. I know nothing about him ,or even if he is still in business !! - but thought he might be worth a try, should the need arise.... Good luck.... (just checked and he has some MG stuff on eBay so he must still be around)James

Unfortunately dealer tried Simon but he has never come across the issue or the control unit.😭 That's not actually what I said... I said I didn't have a fix, and that someone's going to have to fund recreation of all the electrical boxes on the S1 cars at some point in the not too distant future because they're all starting to go fut... Unfortunately most of these boxes are full of potted electronics so its not just as simple as taking the lid off and having a look inside...

Sorry Simon. Revolutions did relay that to me but I was summarising! It has definitely made me decide the car has to go so will be doing a SOR as soon as it is fixed as this situation has happened a few times now and I don’t intend to push my run of bad luck any further.
I can’t see why Morgan can’t just supply the specs for someone to pick up the manufacture of a replica or improved part if they don’t feel they have an obligation to the owners any more but what do I know.

I used an outfit called “autotronics” to do an electronic job on my Ferrari, they did an excellent job and the work was guaranteed. They send an email now and then offering to repair pretty much any automotive electronics, keys, ECUs, instruments etc. I’ll ping you a contact if you’re needing.

Will let you know once Revolutions get back to me with news on the engineering call they have raised with the factory. I’m trying to be proactive and find a solution after they say they can’t fix it. Only alternative they gave at the moment is a manual switch for the fan which is not a route I want to go down.

Might be worth talking to Jamie at BHM as I’m sure he was taking to me about a solution to my fans which seem to go non stop

Sounds worth a try. I take it since you didn’t take it forward your fans in typical Morgan fashion miraculously started working again?
