The extraction bolts required are in fact M10x1.25, I checked the threads when I did mine. I guess Phil used 3/8 BSF as he had those to hand and they will work. I investigated because it did not make sense that they would be imperial when all other threads in that area of the clutch and compensator are metric

When I put the tool for testing sizes I came up with that size too! It is sort of odd they didn't use the bellhousing bolts or something else that just came out since it would have been close at hand.

I agree but presumably it was felt that the finer pitch was more suitable for jacking the plate out of the intermediate bell housing.

OK, just tried the 10x1.25mm and they worked great, could not ask for a better fit.

This is the clutch orientation from my dealer and it is the opposite of what is labeled on the disc, but it makes sense. The side that sticks out away from the clutch pads the most goes toward the flywheel for clearance reasons.



It appears that I am doing this in the nick of time! 4700 miles on the odometer.



and all the things that look like failure points are actually bits of the ground up missing chunk that appear to have heat welded themselves to the roller and the other good (at least appear to be) rollers.






Did anyone elses rollers appear to have the welded on bits of rubber on the rollers that did not fail?? These pieces came off easily with finger nail action and felt sticky.

As an FYI, I managed to get the engine out without cutting or drilling anything. Just the right tools in the right place using an overhead lift, could have been a portable one, and access under the vehicle which could have been jack stands.

Those are a strange bolt here in the US. Luckily at my old job they have a foundry/machine shop and hardware store. They're able to order a lot of the odd stuff that I need. I got 5 bolts for $ 10

The bolts are 10mm X 1.25 pitch. perfect fit purchased at Ace Hardware.
