It is the bracket that holds the track rod ends.

The locking tabs on the bracket are more accessible when the track rod ends have been unbolted from the bracket. I used an old screwdriver and hammer to bend the tabs back. I didn’t flatten them, so I was able to use pipe-grips to bend them back.

Access is limited, but I didn’t struggle too much.

Take care to replace the spacers back the correct way up when you put the sleeve back on. They fall to the floor when the sleeve is removed. They have a flat face and a slightly curved one.

I have plenty of floor clearance too. The lift I use gives plenty of height, and it locks into position when it's fully extended. I can swing on spanners, and hammer and lever things, without fear of it collapsing. It's a great piece of kit.

The previous owner of my 2018 car had the passenger side gaiter (only) replaced under warranty during a service at the Factory Service Centre. The new gaiter is softer than the more plastic and original driver side one still fitted. Issue for me is that there seems to be a very slight oily film, not much, on the original driver side gaiter. I cannot spot a tear and neither could the mechanic at the last service when I asked him to also look at it. But I suspect there could be a pinhole somewhere. I have changed lots of gaiters myself on conventional racks so was slightly bemused by the oddly designed Morgan one! Anyhow, I now know what's involved if I need to change it in the future.

Hi I have done this recently when i fitted a new aluminium radiator Courtesy of Scifab, i cant speak too highly about the great quality and fantastic customer service from Simon, i took the opportunity with the rad removed to replace the steering rack gaitors, quite a simple job however when i replaced everything i realised i had made a schoolboy error by not locking the steering wheel firmly enough so when I put it all back together the steering wheel must have moved slightly so now my steering wheel is front and centre. its only slightly off but enough to annoy me. How do i fix my error without totally dismantling the whole job again?

It depends how far off the steering wheel is.

If it's only slight, you can adjust the track rods to compensate. Turn the wheel from it's deflected position to straight ahead. If that means the road wheels turn to the right slightly, then you need to shorten the right track rod and lengthen the left one. Or vice versa if the alignment is the other way.

It's very easy to mess the tracking up, and it's also trial and error, so mark both track rods so you can ensure equal rotation. It's as well to check the tracking anyway after doing this. A simple wooden rig which measures the distance between the rims at 3 o'clock and nine o'clock works well enough.

Could you not remove and replace the wheel a few degrees over if it is only slight?

It can mess the self cancelling if you do that John.
