I have never really understood the world of 'Fashion', my world has always been:
Daily wear: Jeans and T shirt
Want to look presentable?: Chinos and a proper shirt
Interviews/Weddings/Court appearances/Funerals?: Suit from M&S
Nothing else has ever been necessary or desired. Indeed, in the nearly 3 years since I retired it's been black T shirt and jeans every single day.
But one of my friends is a clothes designer, and I realise that it's old dinosaurs like me that the ones who are out of step with the world. And ever it has been thus, 200 years ago I would have been one of the street urchins chucking horse poo at Beau Brummell. 400 years ago I'd have been happily wearing a sack whilst the young blades were strutting about in doublet and hose. If the fashionistas of today went to wear stuff that I'd think outlandish then good luck to them, I say.

Shorts from March to October and any old short sleeved shirt I can find out of the thirty or so on the rail - mostly checked and some unstained yeah and a few tasteful Morgan silhouette tee shirts without script. I need to renew my stock I wonder if anyone still sells them as they are getting a little faded.

Could you ever have imagined James Hunt camping up like that Wally? No, but that was half a century ago. Imagine what Sir Henry Seagrave would have made of James Hunt's long hair and scruffy appearance. The blighter didn't even wear a collar and tie when racing!

Other than the left over wedding dress bit, his whole outfit is smart, I’d wear it. My guess is the piece of grannies curtains is only there for the event, five past twelve he rips it off, grabs a taxi and goes into town for a kebab and a fight.
