Being born and bred in London tractors and Landrovers weren't an option, the first car I drove was my Dad's Vauxhall Victor Estate, that was a beast especially around West London!

When I was 15 or so I drove dad's car on the disused runways of RAF Spanhoe, an airfield in Rutland.
The first car I drove with a licence was Dad's ford Zodiac and the first car I owned was a Ford Prefect 107E.
A good condition Ford 107E sells today for over £8,000.

Puch Maxi for a while. Like a yoof, came off several times resulting in broken limbs and lucky to survive in hindsight inc one slide off on a wet roundabout in Ipswich, where I ended up against the wheels of an HGV which managed to stop as it pulled out…
Then progressed to a Mini Clubman Estate. It was an absolute hoot and transported me and my mates for many an adventure at pace. I found out after a while that the front floor had rusted away to nothing more than carpet due to the rain coming in through the floor, bouncing of the ceiling and landing in my lap every time I went through a puddle. Finally admitted defeat after having to solo jump start it for its last six months due to an electrical fault. Then progressed to an Escort Laser then XR3i (with the prerequisite speeding tickets 😔) …etc etc etc

The first car I drove was a 1979 Cadillac Coupe D'Elegance. Born and raised in Canada to a Greek family, it was as some might say a bit stereotypical. Talk about being thrown into the deep end navigating a land yacht!
