I have not had the remap on my 2020 Roadster - I don’t think I need it - but fitting a Librands sports exhaust was a must for me. It just adds such a charismatic exhaust note. I’m sure it’s improved the bhp as well, but I’ve never had it on a rolling road to check.

More importantly, how do you know if your car has already been flashed with a remap?
I enquired about having a remap for my used 4/4, the guy told me there was no way to tell if it had already been done. He suggested I pay for the remap, have it downloaded and if it didn't make any difference then I'd know it had been done previously! Still had to pay the full price though . When Williams fitted my ITG Induction kit, they also plugged into my ECU and did the download etc, they could see mine was already mapped. They didn't charge me. That's interesting as it was Williams who told me they wouldn't be able to tell ? Maybe they had done your car previously and had it on record??

When the firmware is upgraded a new "version" number should be present and readable.

I suspect some tuners might choose ‘discretion’ over configuration control, deliberately….  I was intrigued after purchasing my map file. The software I/D in the header was identical as was the file length. Out of curiosity I ran a file compare command against the original file and could then see that they were quite different.

Interesting observations Roger. Would have thought that any in house MMC upgrade would be identifiable though if only to protect themselves from potential warranty work, law suits etc.

I would agree Richard but unfortunately I don’t think MMC actually offer anything for the Duratec although some of the dealers do? My map was developed by an independent tuning house. Hugo (of this parish) originally initiated the tuning and I believe his car was the development car used on the rolling road.

One was developed by MMC but discontinued several years ago. Cain of Wolf Performance in the UK is hoping to offer one soon to cure rev hang although in my case I'm now convinced it's mainly due to dual mass flywheel. I have the factory side exit pipes/silencers fitted which should add modest bhp but they really need to be coupled with sports CATS which are not cheap.

Got a bit of a problem here.... fitted a Librands sports cat and manifold to our 2015 Plus 4 a few weeks ago, runs great when warm but cold start is an issue. Checked fault code and got P0135, i.e. heater circuit in oxygen sensor faulty. Is this normal after fitting the sports cat, and what can we do about it? Trying a change of plug to iridium (but that's another issue).
