Folks- I have had 4 Morgan’s to date - the new MY 21 car has the noisiest hood of them all - maybe it’s because it is mohair whereas the others were everflex but perhaps there’s another reason. Anyone got any ideas - also , I have put foam in a few place to try and reduce the “gale” that comes in at the rear of the doors and side screens - not an issue in summertime, but I expect a few sqawks from the “speed limit” function in the winter!!!!!!!! - again — any bright ideas???

Cheers!

This is my third Morgan, first one had lifter dots and everflex, the second was a Simmonds mohair, and my new Plus Four is mohair and it’s been the quietest, I can hear the better half talking 😩 As for the gale that comes in at the rear of the door, it’s the worst out of the three, and when it rains it just blows in by the bucket load, never had this problem before.

I’ve also had problems with it leaking in, in the middle at the top of the windscreen, not just a trickle but a torrent, all over the sat nav, light switch and centre console.

My Plus Four is 22MY and follows on from a Plus 4 with an Everflex hood and a Roadster with Mohair. My initial thoughts are that it is noisier than either of the earlier cars although Morgan say the new 22MY hood is quieter than the original Plus Four hood. I cannot comment as I have not tried a 21MY car with the hod up.

The draught/gale at the back of the sidescreen is certainly worse than both my Plus 4 and Roadster.

I have only had the opportunity to drive the car in light rain where it did not let in any water at all. I am still waiting for the opportunity to try it n heavy rain. I will report back when I do.

Best regards,

John

Hi, same issue with my 2021 CX: Leaking in, in the middle at the top of the windscreen, not just a trickle but a torrent.
Did you found a solution ?
Thanks thinking

Hi Dada,

It’s going back to the factory, so I won’t no until I have it back and try in heavy rain again.

Keith.

I have put a strip of "P" section draught excluder on the top of the windscreen surround which mates with the rubber in the chanel of the hood rail-- no water comes over the middle even in rain of biblical proportions. I do get a drip onto my left shin in heavy rain and have yet to find the source - any ideas??
Im going to inject expanding foam into the gap at the back of the sidescreen liner between it and the sidescreen in an attempt to stop the gale also put a piece of neopreene foam on the back of the door above the lock in an effort to stop the gale - report later

Cheers!

Robbie, I added these to my Roadster around a year ago & felt a considerable improvement in less cold air being sucked in when the hood has to be up

MMC has 'copied' my idea for the MY22 updates

Hi Jon,
The red car is mine and was photographed by someone on a factory tour. It is a 22MY car and all the seals around the hood and windows are different. They have been made for the car rather than in the past when I think MMC used generic seals cut to fit, or not as the case may be. There are changes to the bodywork too. You can see in this picture that the seam immediately in front of the door returns under the A Pillar whereas in previous cars it continued to follow the door round and consequently led to water coming in under the sidescreen. The problem with the new hood is the tremendous draft from the backs of the sidescreens. I have yet to drive the car in heavy rain so cannot comment on water ingress from the same spot.

Hello.

A few drops of rain come in from behind in heavy rain.
There is an upwelling also at the level of the front attachment of the side screen.
The new hood rail is deeper and there is no more water flowing through. On the other hand, there is water falling on the feet of the passenger.
