This is my third Morgan, first one had lifter dots and everflex, the second was a Simmonds mohair, and my new Plus Four is mohair and it’s been the quietest, I can hear the better half talking 😩 As for the gale that comes in at the rear of the door, it’s the worst out of the three, and when it rains it just blows in by the bucket load, never had this problem before.
I’ve also had problems with it leaking in, in the middle at the top of the windscreen, not just a trickle but a torrent, all over the sat nav, light switch and centre console. I get the impression that its a part of Morgan Fun to be pottering in the garage trying to cure such foibles as torential leaks and howling gales. If you didnt secretly enjoy such things you would buy a Porker surely.

I am looking at getting my fifth Morgan a 21 MY or 22MY plus four and interested to see the 22MY has significant changes to the hood, I got excited, a leak free quiet hood ? But came across this thread and back to Morgan reality with a bump. OMG I wish I had customers like Morgan customers that pay over the odds for a brand new product and then be prepared to make it fit for purpose themselves . Its a trading model we would all love to adopt but only Morgan can get away with.

Rodbin, Fear not — it is possible to have a leak free hood - a strip of “P” section draught excluder on the top of the screen surround sorts the top of the windscreen and various strips of neoprene foam sort out the gale and most of the noise at the rear of the sidescreens. I now have sorted my car but other cars may require experimentation as my locations didn’t sort my friends car - it needed bits elsewhere as well!!( it needed a bit of foam strip between the rear of the sidescreen and the extended rubber seal strip dangling down from the rear of the sidescreen!!!)
Have fun and do enjoy your car when you finish fiddling( if one ever really stops fiddling with a Morgan)
Cheers!

As an side to this thread, in the world of call centres and customer relationship management, CX is used as an acronym for Customer Experience.

My new car is a bit slack between back of side screens and hood but I’m sure I can adjust a little. After all I hope to only use hood on tours or when caught out on a local run. I must say after having a 2014 4/4 and two five speed three wheelers this car is a quantum leap.

It looks great though. does it mean you also get a soft top or just the hard top comes off?

Yes John I think it looks good, it says "Blue Mohair Hood (supplied separately)" way down in the advert so it looks like it. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/01/09/pl44.jpg) A bit of the pram hood frame evident in this shot, on second viewing.. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/01/09/phd.jpg)
