Still no word on the name for the new 3-Wheeler. Possibilities include 3/3, +3, Plus 3, CX3, and retaining 3-Wheeler. 3/3 would continue the Morgan tradition- 3 wheels and 3 cylinders. Plus3 or +3 should be reserved for the later Turbo version. CX3 would be a bit awkward ( 110 3 ). So 3/3 should be the choice if the name is to be changed, barring any further suggestions.
Looking forward to the next revelation ( teaser ).

Great to see that Morgan has taken note of feedback from the just retired 5 speeders for the new 3/3 -the bargeboard deflector panels appear to be an attempt to reduce the tendency for murderous aquaplaning in the wet which is well documented, engine and gearbox should pose a lot less issues quite positive really.

Not just the most reliable but the best feature as well

Like Richard I had misgivings of drive belts when first introduced but they have more than proved themselves over 30 years or more. I was impressed that the exact same belt tension (30° of twist) remained on my M3W from new after 9000 miles. Even Phil Bleazey admitted that his chain conversion acheived little in improving his M3W.

Having driven Phils chain converted car I decided to convert mine, and are very happy with the result.
I already had all Phils driveline conversions fitted.
To me the chain drive is quieter and smoother and a lot more which I cant express in words, you would have to drive one !

Not sure how this might work - can anyone explain - the aquaplaning challenge seems inherent to the layout with a single driven back wheel.

Yes a big problem with a single driven rear wheel hitting puddles and at the same time being fed two streams of spray (the wake if you like) off the front wheels, I pointed this out after that rash of wet weather crashes a couple of years back.

OK...I buy a marginal impact of spray from front wheels but have not seen much from ours in pretty wet weather

Trouble is that if traction rather than wheel-spin is required, it requires a wide back tyre which on our cars will suffer more than a 4 wheel car as the front wheels do not clear any water ahead of it.

Best solution could be the twin narrow wheel approach of a few decades ago (JJD tyres) that led to a short-lived tyre design(Goodyear Aquatred) with a very deep centre groove. There are residues of some of this thinking in modern designs some of which may help us but there is no substitute for lots of tread and real caution on speed with standing water.

I heard a snippet that the new three wheeler is 8” wider at the front wheels than the previous model.

I thought the M3W was reportedly entering the "jet age"? Jet fighters normally had roughly the same wingspan as their prop driven cousins, just swept back a bunch more.

At first I thought perhaps that was to allow for more leg room around the engine, but that only amounts to about 4 inches per side. The previous 5 speed was pretty stable, so I don't think it would just be for stability.
