Could it be as simple as the original author of the handbook lifted the info from Ford's details. Then, by the time later cars were built (mine was towards the end of the range) it was realised the sump was modified and the handbook updated.

Had mine MOTd yesterday,passed no problem. But the tester picked up a oil leak. It seems to be from the oil pressure switch, has anyone experience of this fault on the 1800 duratec.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
