My 22MY Plus Four has door seals but on both doors they don’t actually touch the bodywork when closed. Hence I enjoy a wonderful supply of fresh air when the hood is up and motoring along. Slightly concerned this will translate into refreshing water in heavy rain. Is this normal? Maybe the door lock plates are adjustable?

I have put some néoprène around the side screens to close the gaps.

Gosh - you must be right posh, I don’t recall any door seals on my 21MY car!!! Are you talking about the rubber strip near the back the door which waves forlornly about an inch away (in front of) the door frame? I shall have to check now… Aside from when the roof is down (meaning you end up with more rain on the back of the head rather than the front), I haven’t noticed any coming in with the blast of cold air by the elbow…I do get plenty coming in under the roof seal above the drivers side sun visor and plenty from above by the door roof flap at the front near the join with the windscreen (I think the rain is channeled there by the design at the side/top of the windscreen)…of course being posh I realise you don’t bother with roof flaps on your version. I shall pay more attention to the elbow area next time I’m out in the rain!!!! Ps v big welcome to TM
Just checked and I too must be posh coz I have seals on the door itself. How exciting! They do seem to just contact the frame…it was the loose rubber strip along the back of the sidescreens which merely threatens to come near the car and leaves a large gap. Unfortunately I don’t reckon neoprene would work as there is a triangle shaped gap/hole between door frame and sidescreen so will have to give thought how to cover that up and stop the typhoon that comes through it… Best wishes HB

Thanks for the photos Thierry. They certainly show what the neoprene (as mentioned by Dave W) looks like in practice both around the door area but also the bit by the sidescreens. Has it made the difference you’d hoped for? Having looked at my door door whilst it is shut I suspect that the gap behind the screens may be larger on Belle - I can still see daylight/wheel arches beyond the top of where your strip would reach... However, I am definitely open minded enough to visit a local hardware shop and see if they have suitable strips that could be shaped appropriately….I’ll never learn if I don’t give it a go will I??? I am wondering if I would have any success by putting it on the door frame rather than the door…we shall see. Thanks to both Dave and Thierry What a great site TM is! HB Ps Having looked at a forest based website it appears that it’s mainly 3mm and 6mm thick strips before you move onto EVA type window draught excluders (which offer 8mm). Thierry, would you mind letting me know how thick your strip is at the top (the bit that looks about 6 inches in length and is closest to the sidescreen…)? Many thanks

I have cut the néoprène in the middle with a long cutter blade . Then with a double face adhesive band it is fixed on the side screen. The band is long enough to try différents lenghts I find now there is less wind coming from the back . It is not perfect but it is better.

Unfortunately, somewhat more than it used to be….but I would say that I feel I have more “car” for the money even despite the continued flaws… HB
