Bought new, 10 years ago, I’ve worked on improving and personalising my Plus 4 to the point where I think it is now close to perfection (for a traditional Morgan).

The car now has 39,000 mile on the clock, however like Trigger’s broom, a large proportion of the car is newer than that.

At 17,000 miles I changed the engine to an Omex 2.5 litre Duratec VVT, long stroke, high torque engine, mated to long throttle bodies to further boost torque. This motor makes 217 BHP and 200 lb-ft of torque and pulls like a train!It is also fitted with a Quaife limited slip differential to help with the power delivery, cornering etc. Initially I ran asymmetric leaf springs on the back, however I later replaced these with an SSL 5L rear end and SSL front. Cooling is courtesy of a Mulfab aluminium radiator.

Recently (1,500 miles back) the car spent a significant amount of time with Cain at Wolf Performance. Cain squared and levelled the suspension, aligned the king pins, replaced the springs and dampers all round, set the castor and camber, fitted a quicker rack, inverted the track rods and beefed up the 5L rear end. The end result is a car that now runs straight, is stable with no shake, and steers precisely with a huge amount of grip. This is further enhances by the car being shod with Avon CR6zz tyres.

Whilst at Cain’s the car was given a complete service with all fluids changed, new brake pads, wheel bearings and numerous other small tweaks to generally improve her further.

The car is solid black, black grill, Wolf valance, and black wire wheels contrasting with a burnt orange interior. Interior features include, walnut dashboard, carbon fibre instrument panel with Wolf bezels, starter button, Moto Lita leather steering wheel, CD radio (never used), Allon White side window leather.

Black, mohair factory easy up hood, 3 zip tonneau, side window storage bag, rear spare wheel and stainless luggage rack with side window storage.

I fitted JW Speaker LED headlights to make nighttime driving less stressful and all the other light lenses are clear with LED bulbs.
