I'm very embarrassed to finally admit this in public, but I can't find where to sound my horn. I know the horn works as I've connected directly to a power source and I've tested the fuses. I also know on older Morgans it can be a simple on-off switch , so I don't think it's in the indicator stalk. I'm guessing it's one of the two rocker switches Morgan Rebuildthat aren't labeled but before I got taking off the dashboard to check the wiring I thought I'd check with the experts. Thanks !

It should be activated by pushing in the indicator stalk - towards the steering column.

As TBM says .... bump the end of the indicator stalk inwards with your hand
K
Ps ... if the end of the stalk moves in but there's no horn it could be the switch contacts are burnt out .... it can be a problem as the horn takes a bit of current and can make the switch fail if there's no relay to handle the current and protect the stalk switch ( as there wasn't in early cars)

Thank you both - I'm guessing the previous owners (a very large family of rats) did more work behind the dashboard . After 6 months I'm still finding poop where I least expect it ! Still trying to get my head around the circuitry without unraveling the loom - would the black wire here at the fuse box be a direct connection to the positive on the horn. I've tried a circuit tester but there was no reading so I suspect not (or else it was gnawed) I guess, what I'm trying to ask is how to trace the purple/black electrical wire that leads from the indicator stem as I'm not sure how that gets to be the black wire that connects to the actual horn. Out of curiosity - could anyone tell me what those 2 unmarked switches do ?

According to the Wiring diagram there should be a Purple going from the fusebox to the indicator stalk and then a purple/black going from the stalk to the horn. My horn is permanently live so that should narrow it down a from the fusebox.
On mine, when I had her, both of those switches were not doing anything. One now turns the fuel pump on (previously turned the reverse lights) and the other is for the rear fog light.

Out of curiosity - could anyone tell me what those 2 unmarked switches do ? Would strongly suggest you replace that heavily corroded fuse box and spade connectors to it. If not now it will create issues in the future with high resistance or open circuits. According to wiring diagram you should have a live brown wire feeding a dedicated fuse with purple wire passing the live feed onto horn push which then connects to horn with purple/black wire. You can see such wires from/to left hand fuse in your photo below. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/K4ZIY9l.jpeg) The horn(s) are grounded locally to complete the circuit when operated. This is the reverse of normal practice where the horn push operates in the ground leg, and for good reason. No idea what the black (normally ground) wire is doing in the vicinity, but please don't be tempted to put it anywhere near a live feed until you know where it goes!

Phil and Richard - thank you , as always, I'm grateful for your help .
This gives me a lot to go on, I'll take your advice and get a new fusebox and I have a much better understanding of the electrics now. I'm finding out that the previous owners (prior to the rats staking a claim) had made more changes that I initially thought. The wire that leads to the + terminal on the horn is solid black, but I have a much better idea as to where I should be looking.
Cheers,
Rob

Rob The joy and curse of our vehicles is that they are very easy to chop around and modify. Where possible I try to use a 'recognised' colour wire when doing amendments to my vehicles to make life easier (I doubt she'll ever be sold in my lifetime), but on occasions I use anything I have to hand!

TBM ..... oh yes, mine has all sorts of non standard wire colours added during its history .... fortunately the wiring is pretty simple and the car small enough to do continuity tests end to end without too much trouble.
Can't complain, as I once wired a 500 Triumph entirely in brown wire because it was what I had handy 😁

K I think I must have bought a house from you once, all the wallpaper was brown - it was like living in a cardboard box !
