This advert is in the latest edition of "Octane" magazine. Interesting they've used the painted Sport dash ( and a left hand drive...the main market?) but I just love that leather!

Looks nice and similar to the Roadster Sport with the "trinket box"/arm rest, and distressed leather, and as you say painted dash and cargo net. But who knows, it's a pre production car; usually it doesn't mean large changes, but since and ad, perhaps some extra equipment.

My first thought, a bit odd given all to look at, was about the speedo, just to the left. They usually put it as far away as possible no matter if LHD or RHD, don't they? Or at least I thought they did, if one doesn't request something special, if possible that is. Had a look at some different pictures, and in the latest 2011 brochure it's next to the steering wheel in LHD for the Roadster Sport, but then in the "fake", i.e. mirrored (since it is a LHD), RHD image of the 4/4 Sport it's on the other side of the instrument cluster. Odd. There are some possibilities, either it's always the same place, and then if it's close or not depends on if LHD or RHD, or, they move it (mirror the dash) so that it is always at the end of the instrument cluster. But my images show both cases for LHD.

Anyhow, around 260 hp should be more than enough to keep everyone focused on the road rather than the dashboard. laugh2

Speedo is always on the left side so far I can see, no matter LHD or RHD. Even the P4SS which is a true and only RHD build car has the speedo on the left. At least all LHDs over here as well.

Yes, RHD, as for example the P4SS, have it to the left; my point was that they sometimes seemed to mirror that on the LHD cars.

Compare the image of the left hand 4/4 Sport dash at the top this page at MMC with the image below it, also a LHD, showing standard features, such as painted dash. (Even though I don't know if 2011 or 2010 images; the cargo net came 2010, didn't it?)

In the first it's far away from the driver, the steering wheel, i.e. to the right; in the latter case it's next to the steering wheel, i.e. to the left.

In this image of the Roadster Sport, it’s to the left. (On the other hand it could almost be the same car as in the second image above.)

In the Plus 4 images it’s also to the left, no matter RHD or LHD.

But one sometimes gets the impression that they use a mix of images, i.e. old and new, and old if no important details. But what do I know. My impression is that they mirrored the dash on early LHD Sports, the 4/4s, had it to the right, but on later models it's the same place, to the left.

SGT have it priced at 'from £46860' coffee in their recent Winter 2011 Brochure.

Osprey, I never noticed that. You are completely right. The whole Morgan story is about miracles in the brochures about everything. As I have no experience with a speedo more far away (in my case to the right), it looks cool to have it out of direct sight but is it still readable?

TBH the car shown in the ad seems to be the 2010 Geneva sports sand with the "distressed" (and very useless say squeamish) trim - as long we don´t see what is under the bonnet.

Easter, not only the brochures blame me, even reality itself. I´m confused. May be they build the speedo to the left on odd and to the right on even days...Perhaps someone knows about the secrets.

Looking at the car in the 3.7L advert and the cars in the Morgan ads in Ospreys posting, I bet they are one and the same car!
