I did a very pleasant 50 miles today and sunk a fine bison burger en route.

Note to anyone in the area - avoid Llangollen for the time being. Main thoroughfare is being pedestrianised and it’s causing traffic chaos. Only in Wales would they pedestrianise the only river crossing for 15 miles in either direction. Got to love the WAG.

Took a friends labrador for a chilly sundowner ride.
Nice sun and cold end led to a perfect doggy raindance as we arrived back.
Seems she was glad to survive🤪

Does this mean Llangollen inhabitants on the North side of the river now have a major detour to access the A5? Same for those on the South side to access the Ruthin road?
Not very green - but presumably all in the name of progress 🤷‍♂️

No, they’ve put traffic lights on the main high street so it’s still passable but the traffic is backed up on both sides of the a5 and the Wrexham/horseshoe pass side. Took us 40 minutes to get through last week.

DCC are typically evasive about the final solution but it seems the high street will remain traffic controlled permanently. All brought about because some ‘lady’ fell over a street bollard into the path of oncoming traffic.

The assumption is that visitors from north and east would be encouraged park on the north side of the river whilst south and west the south side. However parking is limited especially on the north banks and many visitors do so en-route.

DCC don’t have a good record for managing tourism and are very ‘anti-traffic’ so it’s doesn’t bode well at all. It’s one of my local driving routes too. A5 from Corwen then through Llangollen to the horseshoe pass. There is another, more difficult crossing at Carog though.

Not mine but Hawki's +4. Very different to the Roadster but great fun & with an addictive engine note over 3k. Noticeably lighter steering due to the thinner tyres.

Balmy, our local anti car council do such stuff & then wonder why all the lovely little independent shops die off
