I have a constant smell of petrol around the car and, but searching through the threads here it seems that it could be due to leaks on the fuel line. I was planning on replacing them at some point soon and, based on the way the old fuel filler pipe crumbled when I replaced it, this may be overdue. I've seen lots and lots of debate on the potential impact of ethanol on these pipes and I was wondering if somebody could recommend a replacement brand that is ethanol resistant. I have a friend coming over from the UK shortly and I'm planning to get all the UK Morgan parts I need ordered so he can cart it all over Thanks you !

I've used Gates Barricade 5/16 previously and really liked it but can't seem to get it in the UK at the moment. You may have more luck stateside. When I did my fuel pump recently I used CODAN SAE R9. The R9 means it's ethanol resistant.

I have a constant smell of petrol around the car and, but searching through the threads here it seems that it could be due to leaks on the fuel line. Another couple of areas to examine: Carefully check where the aluminium fuel filler pipe is welded to the fuel tank. The weld on my car cracked allowing a little fuel to escape, especially when filled to the brim. Also, check the link pipe between the two tanks. The short flexible hoses either end of the rigid section have been known to perish.

You wouldn't have a photo of that fitting so we know what you are talking about would you?

It screws into the tank with a fibre washer underneath and then a barb outlet screws into the horizonal face. Standard for Mogs of this age. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2021/10/16/IMG_20211016_144835.md.jpg)

I realise what's happened - I think Rob has posted in the wrong forum section - he has a 1974 4/4, not an M3W
