Yours sounds better than a lot of seen then, some have the top rear of the window frame sticking out an inch or so from the line of the hood. The variability of the fit is getting to the point that I'm seriously considering buying a built car rather than ordering so at least I know what I will be getting.

Crikey I didn't realise that. I visited the factory a lot whilst ordering and during build and thank god I haven't seen any such vehicles.

What worries me more is that one dealer didn't see anything wrong with it & was sending a new car out with that alignment.

The MY 22 have new door seals. The fit is much better than what HB , Thierry and Robbie showed us. There remains the padding of the side window trim. A lip seal would suffice after the leather and the problem would be solved.

It’s not really that simple,Gaston - it is a combination of the gap between the pad and sidescreen, the fit of the door and the gap between the strip of rubber sealer at the back of the window surround and the back of the sidescreen - only when all 3 are sorted will the gale disappear!! It’s just lack of detail in the hood and sidescreen fit in the factory - someone needs a kick in the behind for the attention to detail in the trim shop IMHO!!!

Now I have it sorted, it’s a real pleasure!!

As I think I said or intimated in an earlier post, the fit appears to be under constant development . Ive seen about 4 different variations on the way the seals have been fitted.

I totally agree with you….hence my early comment about how much these cars are now. Part of me would love another Morgan but there’s no way I’d spend that sort of money and have niggles like leaking roofs, poor door sealing etc. I had enough problems with my last Morgan to make me sell it in the end in pure frustration. I really should be surprised that the factory hasn’t got on top of shoddy workmanship particularly with the new owners…..but I’m not. There are some craftsmen there but there’s also an amount of not really caring sufficiently and much that I like and admire Steve Morris, he needs to get a grip and bang heads together.
Sorry….I know there’s a lot of you on here that will disagree with me, accepting the Morgan hand built foibles and seeing the cars with rose tinted glasses but having been away from the marque for a while, I now take a more dispassionate view. I feel like giving the factory a good kick up the arse in frustration.

Jays - as one of those reduced to "Sticking Neoprene on my car" I agree wholeheartedly with you - it is crazy that apparrently no one thought to see how the hood-up motoring was spoilt by gales of draughts - was all the development done roof-down??? That said, the car-a plus four - is IMHO just a fantastic car to own and drive so while annoyed, I am happy to have solved the gales and now my jaunts are very comfortable!!!!

It's a real pity as i would like to tell people how improved the car is but these little(and not so little-radiators!!) things spoil it all

When I was last at Berrybrook with my 4/4 (MoT - passed, no advisories), I spent some time waiting in the showroom.
They were displaying a new Plus Four, with a price in excess of £75,000!
I would expect near perfection for that money; however from the various comments, I suspect that I would be disappointed.
To buy a Plus Four new would mean me having to find about £50,000 on top of the value of my car.
I’m not sure what real world benefits that £50k would buy me?
My 4/4 (since a new hood in 2009) is fairly water tight and the doors fit well, without additional neoprene.
Also, being equipped with ‘Armstrong Steering’ means no p.a.s issues.
Overall, it provides decent performance, decent handling and as many smiles as when I first bought it 18 years ago.

I no longer feel that I am anywhere near MMC’s target customer base.
I wish new owners all the best, but am quite glad that I am a bit of a dinosaur 🦖 as I do fear for the long term future of MMC, if they don’t sort out the quality issues.
