How odd to have the rev counter where it is. How would you see it? Are they all like that or is it for left hand drive cars? What's in front of the driver...is that a clock? Strange set of priorities???? Nick

Strange set of priorities???? Nick Nick, it is an automatic: Tarka is the same. To be honest the rev counter is more a decoration than an essential instrument: in the real world you can't over rev the car, the box won't let you! Tarka is a year younger, but has run 44,200 miles and looks a load better. The only visible wear in on the driver's O/S seat bolster, where the weather is beginning to age. If that car is worth £75k then Tarka is £85k, given its specification and provenance.....

You got a bargain that time Peter.
I hadn't considered that it might be automatic. Gosh, I'm so out of date... I've spent my whole life driving off the revcounter, never worrying if the speedo is on the other side of the car.... I'm a bl***y dinosaur. Nick

with the sidepipes there's no risk of over revving, you have the best-sounding warning system ever!

To give a little more detail to this thread, I'm breaking cover to admit to buying this car and don't regret it one bit. Thought I would give it a few hundred miles before "coming out" just in case! After letting the Aero series 5 go earlier this year, I was in the market to do some more Morgan but could not decide. Thought about a Roadster but soon decided that would not work for us. Seriously considered a Plus Four, superb car but somehow doesn't quite give what I'm looking for at this stage. Had a quick discussion with Peter J about the Plus 8 and decided to go on the hunt. Not much out there as stated earlier in this thread so went prospecting to the factory without necessarily intending to buy. However, having test driven it, my wife was more convinced than I, can't ignore that endorsement! even the dog approves though she flatly refused to travel in the Aero 8, explain that! In conclusion, the car is just great fun to drive, feels more nimble and rapid that the 8. The plan is to further develop the car, have made some adjustments already and more planned in the new year. I would like to speak to the previous owners just to have the complete history, not sure how to go about that given our privacy rules. Will post some pictures of the car as it is now if anyone is interested.

Ron, looks like you've bought a cracker ! Can you just shed some light on the earlier photos/posts about some of the cosmetics, as it looks absolutely fine to me. Thanks, just curious.

Congratulations Ron. Indeed its very close to the specification of my 2012 car. We need to enjoy these cars while we still can.
