I orginally thought about making my own, but considered the £45 cost for a stainless pair suprisingly good value (especially for a Morgan part).
£45! Mine are £38 Loads of sets on the shelf…. You need a website Or at least an online stock/price list.... Tried to call today about the gearbox, will call next week when you're back. Cheers.

In cause the worries about the clutch (just waiting for the cylinder) I think: great time to fit the BRBs.
Working striktly as the „manual“ said and looking forward to an 1/2 hour job. After a few minutes: yes, I must drill holes.
And the next point: if I fix the BRB under the kingpinbolt on top of the washers… surprise, surprise… the lower end is about 1/2“ (Inch, not centimeter) away from the chassis.
Switch off the light, close the garage. Next step on monday.

Yes mine too. I just pressed it down to mark the drill location and when drilled used the bolt to bring the bar into position. There is somewhere on the forum a note about marking the location with the bar slightly loose on it's top mounting and firming it up once drilled

This will cause a damage. So I think I‘ll do little metalwork for a better fit. Greets René And: German „overdone“? https://www.schmitt-bcs.de/morgan_vorderachsstabi.php

I learned years ago to adopt that approach too with plumbing...forcing pipes into joints is always asking for trouble. As far as the German version of BRBs is concerned, beautiful workmanship but definitely a case of overkill. In the unfortunate event of an accident, you don’t want the front end to be TOO rigid.

When I fitted mine the bars were hovering a bit short of the chassis .... as above, I never like to stress things into position unless there's no alternative .... packed the gap with a stainless penny washer and bolted it up as normal. Perfectly solid solution.

K I was just about to ask if this was a viable solution. BRBs are on the list of forthcoming purchases, along with remote greasing system, new tyres, steering bearings...

K I did the same on my Plus 4.Spacer washers.

Some things are designed to be under tension. The cross head stays on your car for example. I understood the BRB came with bolts designed to shear in a front end crash. I can't see that small amount of tension being an issue but the washer trick will obviously eliminate it.
