Fuse blown. Finding why may be more problematic.

Check the fuses and then the grounding, Get a probe lamp or a multimeter, measure /test the voltage delivered to the fuses, sockets step by step. Being a car from 2006 you might also have the infamous PCB behind the dash, known to fail. If you are not familiar with automotive circuitry, perhaps best get the car to a competent garage.

Unlikely to be a problem in the main 20 way fuse box since there are seven individual fuses covering headlights, side lights and indicators, dip and main beam, o/s and n/s etc. The ground connections are also handed o/s and n/s, so equally unlikely to have failed simultaneously.

I would start by checking components common to all your failures, starting with the combined light/indicator switch. Typically it would be a green wire feeding power to this switch which you could check with a multimeter set to measure 12 volts DC. I believe there may be a fuse in a separate 8 way group of higher current fuses that protects this feed on 2006 on models.

Hopefully it's not the Omnitec panel, though if it is its a good opportunity to ditch it for a "hardwired" more conventional system. Not a small task!

Hi Carl44,

Following on from Richard’s post the group of high current fuses…..open the driver’s bonnet and they are on the back firewall near to the heater box. They protect relays and the fuse box. Loathe to say which protects the fuse box since MMC may have wired a little differently to mine.

Hope this helps.

Had another look at the wiring diagram once I'd sorted through the fusebox labelling errors! Although I earlier suggested otherwise, there is a 15 amp fuse 10 in the main fuse box that should be labelled "Indicators and headlamp flash". This feeds the light switch on the afore mentioned green wire when ignition is on.

If this fuse is found blown, it would explain your problem Carl, although sidelights wired outside ignition circuit should work normally. If it blows again on replacement then very likely the light switch is faulty as previously suggested.

A screen washer tube failed on my 2008 Plus 4 spilling water behind the dashboard. It caused various electrical problems including failing indicators and headlights. The original tubes had reacted with the washer fluid.
