Yeah, a week on and still not right. However I am 52, fairly fit, healthy, have a fabulous immune system (the joy of teaching) and triple jabbed. Some of my mates have had it far worse - and they've now gone on to infect partners, kids etc (most of us were asymptomatic for the first three to four days) Out of our one little gathering, at least 40 people are now with COVID.However, we're all grown adults, we knew the risks so we can't cry foul when it comes back to bite us on the arse.

My advice - if you're mixing indoors, or in crowds, just wear a fricking mask. If you don't, just make sure you're more than punching distance away from me.

Thank you. To give some context, I've just gone for a 5 minute walk up and down the garden to get some fresh air - first time out since my PCR last Sunday.

PS ... get well soon TBM .... can't help but think we're pretty much all going to have a bout of this variant over winter .... hopefully mitigated in its severity by our vaccine status (and, if more serious, helped by recent improvements in treatment) ..... it's here to stay, and looking beyond party-political points scoring there's nothing governments can do to keep these variants from jumping borders ... 'total isolation' is a myth, like 'total security'

Still, dodged a bullet - my Mrs has gone tp a Xmas Market with her family and I've had to stay at home. That is defintiely a 'Sunday Smile'.
