Out of interest, if Lando does win, would they play the UK national anthem twice on the podium?

I was surprised and disappointed by the booing. It's not something anyone should encourage outside of politics and panto's and whether or not you like any of the personalities is immaterial, they are all masters of their craft.

I've been surprised by just how much I've been glued to the whole F1 thing this year. I think the Netflix series that documents the behind the scenes in detail is terrific in filling in the gaps to all the teams and characters, and I look forward to viewing this years series in the New Year.

Coulthard has developed his humour a lot more, and can be very statesmanlike when needed, but the character of Lando Norris is one of a cheeky Jack Russell. Always excited for the throw of a ball, and quite happy punching over his weight, along with such humour and good will.

I hope Lewis does it. He is a role model for so many on different levels, and he's British. He's also phenomenally talented, as indeed is the young Verstappen. But there's an arrogance in that family that really puts me in mind of school bullies.

Here's hoping for a clean race.

Steve, an excellent response.
I agree 100%, especially the School Bully comparison.

+1 : nicely put

I suspect it's going to be all about tyre temps... maybe the reason MB fell away at the end of Q3 was the cooling evening track. Which might play to their advantage in the race. RedBull are running low downforce wings, which maybe puts their rear tyre temps up in corners. Which might or might not be a good thing. Let's see.

Christian Horner seems to think that the MB is the faster car (or maybe he's just saying that?).
Red Bull do seem happy to be doing the opposite of MB, even if they were forced into that by Max flat spotting a set of Mediums in Q2.

When margins are so tight, who knows?

I'd love to see Max & Lewis tippy-toeing around each other, and Lando coming through to win. He deserves it!

Will

Customer .... all good points .... but on a wider scheme of things isn't it sad that we've come to a point where races are decided by such things and not by 'racing'?

Just watched the end to see what all the fuss was about. I'm in isolation stupor and it was that or Four in a Bed.

I may have got this wrong, but it appears that someone purposely cut the time gap between to the first two cars, removed all the cars between them thus making the entire race a complete waste of time, and then decided everything on a single lap?

Wish I'd stuck with Four in a Bed smile

Woof - That's not the finish - this is going to appeal. But it was a blinder to watch.

That was a total farce and the last race I shall watch - an 11Sec lead eroded to zero by the numpty in charge doh this is no longer about racing so of no interest to me now. A hollow victory.

10/10 to Lewis for his post race conduct unlike last weeks 2nd place man exercising his arrogance with a podium walk off.

On the positive side it does guarantee that Lewis will be back until he gets the 8th so the crashman can look forward to a lot more aggravation in future. I think Lewis maybe would have retired had he secured this one.

If the stewards and or Race Director don't turn this result around they face ridicule from all fronts, they know it was a wrong decision let alone crashman getting his nose ahead of Lewis under the safety car.

My thought on Lewis as well. He is a class act. And he deserved to win. Probably not the last we've heard on this

But I will watch next year. Many more great moments than not.

In better news FIA Euro Drag Racing Championship Round 1 is the end of May. Proper cars, proper racing - bit of tactics at the startline, but then it's just Man and Machine - F1 seems more akin to Dungeons and Dragons smile
