Sorry, as ever I seem to have confused myself...Duh..!
When I typed my response I thought you were thinking of a permanent extension to the heavy battery cables to elsewhere on your Morgan to provide easier access to jump start it after possible lay up...

+1 for the earths. Take a jump lead of the starter earth & find a metal chassis bit like the crossshead to check.
