Andreas, I would have contributed earlier but I only discovered your thread today. Exciting times indeed, I do hope all goes as well as you hope. As I have typed many times, for me a Morgan was a substitute for a large engined vintage car of a type that I would be unlikely to ever afford to buy. Thus my expectations were not for the perfection and on board entertainment, safety and comfort options that today`s car buyers expect. Armed with a reasonable set of expectations adjusted as to the reality of what a Morgan might be to live with, I hope you find great joy in the very special car that a Morgan can be. The only thing I might add is that the changes in fuel chemistry might be worth considering in that many cars of most marques were not designed to run on modern fuels, though there are additives that can be used to off-set the complications... My Morgan is an alloy bodied 86 +8, and has carburettors, which may I run on premium fuels, it may be OK to run it on E5, but E10 may well create added issues.. Perhaps worth thinking about..? Good luck in your choices...

Hi all, it took a little more time, the MOT was delayed to last week. But today i've signed the contract and transferred the money to the seller - our second Morgan will be the black Plus 8 . Next week, if the weather is ok, i can hopefully take it over Now i have the exacted information about the car: 8512 miles and first immatriculation 19.08.2003. Some more hard days of waiting in the meantime i go to the garage and look at my little green 4/4 Have a nice, sunny sunday Andreas

I suspect that the 4/4 may be the sweet spot in Morgan trads for enjoying tight twisting roads. The +8 obviously has a lot going for it too and I have enjoyed many miles touring at low revs with the unstressed V8 burbling along at circa 2.5k revs.. On the other hand I have enjoyed many a mile on my local tight and twisting roads too.. I hope your +8 provides a whole new level of Morganeering experience..

... today i've signed the contract and transferred the money to the seller. Andreas Well done Andreas. I lived in Switzerland for several years, and enjoyed driving over the (near to you) Arlberg pass -- always wanted to do that in a Morgan, now you'll be able to. Enjoy !!

Yesterday i picked up the Plus 8, after two endless weeks of waiting Here some of the pics from the gallery: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.talkmorgan.com/gallery/26/full/40506.jpg) The front i will change back to the original look with the overrider. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.talkmorgan.com/gallery/26/full/40507.jpg) Think the spare wheel i will keep, only remove the luggage rack for a cleaner look. Exhaust is completely stainless steel, at the moment the original cat is attached. Only the strange look of the number plate lights must be changed. Think the position is ok, only switch to two small, black lights from a motocycle. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.talkmorgan.com/gallery/26/full/40510.jpg) Internal in leather Muirhead Ocean green. Outside MB obsidian black, like my daily driver ![[Linked Image]](http://www.talkmorgan.com/gallery/26/full/40508.jpg) I am not sure if i am happy with the Kauffeld dash. The position of the speedo is better for me with the original dash. And the new levers too ![[Linked Image]](http://www.talkmorgan.com/gallery/26/full/40511.jpg) This is how it looked when it left the plant. And hopefully again in a few weeks. Really happy to have this build record book. Unfortunately all the original parts are not availabel anymore. Christmas 8 days earlier than usual Best regards Andreas

Looks great Andreas I particularly like the period light switch, and up for on toggle switch orientation.

Welldone! A nicelooking car. I have the 2002 version so more or less the same. Mine’s got 69k miles though! Sump gasket....mine is showing signs of oil seepage but nothing bad. A new gasket is the plan. Just keep on top of fluid changes, brake/clutch fluid included. Also be aware of old age affecting some systems. Fuel, electrics etc. Above all learn the characteristics of the bigger engine, drive and enjoy the car. 3000rpm and she comes alive

Thanks all, it looks i was lucky again getting this car. Most of the parts are looking brand new. @Sospan: I got all invoices for services over the last 10 years. A lot of things was already changed (some cables, hoses, etc.). The fluids was changed every second year. The previous owner always kept the car in a good maintenance condition. On the way back yesterday i got an first impression of the power - but because of weather conditions and the only old thing on the car, the tyres, i needed to be carful. The sound...

Looks great Andreas I particularly like the period light switch, and up for on toggle switch orientation. Me too! I have exact the same dash board! For me the original switches look odd! I have send the Lucas switch levers to Mr. Kauffeld to get ivory levers! They now fit to the dials. .
